We are happy to announce that David Kunke, Ph.D. has joined Alv B’s advisory board.
David currently works as a Senior Researcher at the Department for Medical Genetics, Institute of Clinical Medicine, at the University of Oslo.
David holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and a Master’s degree in Biology from Charles University in Prague. Early in his research career David took interest in molecular virology. His first PostDoc was at the Deutsche rebsforschungszentrum, DKFZ in Heidelberg, where he designed viral vectors for gene therapy. In 2001 David was recruited to The Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience (CMBN) which was one of the first Norwegian Centers of Excellence. David joined a group at the National Hospital (Rikshospitalet) where he studied neural stem cells from the mouse brain. These were the early days of Norwegian stem cell research.
David is an expert on adult and embryonic stem cells, induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and genetically modified viruses.
